How can you extend the life of fresh flowers?

While the requirements of each type of flower vary, practically all blooms can benefit from the following advice. First, add your

flower food (we include a sachet with every bouquet) to a vase filled with fresh, room-temperature water. After that, trim each

stem by at least an inch at a 45-degree angle to maximize the surface area available for water intake. To prevent rotting and

contamination, remove any leaves that are below the water line. Don't place your flowers in the

direct sun or near drafts. Additionally, keep them away from the fruit bowl since ripening

fruit releases an ethylene chemical that might cause them to wilt too soon.
