How To Make Spiked Lemonade

Ingredients: 2-1/4 cups sugar, 5 cups water, divided, 1 tablespoon grated lemon zest, 1-3/4 cups lemon juice, 1 cup light rum or

vodka, 6 to 8 cups ice cubes. Garnish: Lemon slices. Combine the sugar, one cup water, and lemon

zest in a big pot. For approximately four minutes, over medium heat, cook and stir

until sugar is dissolved. Take off the heat source. Add the remaining water and lemon juice and stir. Transfer to a 2-quart

pitcher and cool in the refrigerator. Add rum and stir. Fill a Collins or highball glass with 3/4 to 1 cup

of ice for each drink. Transfer the lemonade blend into a glass. As desired, garnish with slices of lemon.
