with the charger connected, modern laptops include built-in voltage regulation that senses when the battery is full and shuts
off the charge. Laptops are equipped with safety devices that will cut the connection before any actual damage is done, and these
mechanisms seldom malfunction. There's almost no chance of anything catching fire. All of that, meanwhile, is presuming that
both the charger and the electrical outlet it is attached to are in excellent operating condition. Not just laptops that
are charging can catch fire due to a short in an outlet. Having saying that, remember to always check your outlets.
