The Best Way to Store Basil

Handle your lovely bunch of fresh basil the same way you would a lovely bouquet of flowers: Arrange

on the counter with a jar of water inside. Fresh basil will get limp and begin to brown around

the edges in the cold, so avoid putting it in the refrigerator. For this reason, it's important to understand how to properly store

fresh herbs! Place a plastic bag with all the leaves tucked inside over the top if you won't be using

the basil for a day or two. This will help the basil live for a week or more by producing a little,

somewhat humid bubble. Every other day, replace the water, and trim the ends of the stems to aid in the plants' absorption of water.
